forConnect

forconnect_21_kleinForConnect 2.1 is Forcare’s “XDS enabler”, providing IHE XDS connectivity for existing clinical information systems. ForConnect 2.1 interfaces to a wide variety of applications, including HIS, PACS, Lab and RIS, using existing communication standards like DICOM, HL7, XML and PDF. ForConnect's flexible configuration and proven IHE XDS interconnectivity enables fast integration of your clinical applications into the IHE XDS-based health information exchange. ForConnect 2.1 can support multiple clinical information systems through one instance.

Specific to imaging networks, it provides the WADO (Web-Access to DICOM Objects) standard to provide JPEG/Flash Video access to images. Furthermore, ForConnect 2.1 can be extended with a DICOM cache to off-load a source PACS system when images are being retrieved. Third, ForConnect can interface with DICOM Modality Worklist providers for optional patient ID and demographics handling for DICOM imports.

ForConnect 2.1 can automate document publication based on your work processes. For example, the release of a preliminary or final (radiology) report can be used to trigger the publication of the DICOM study that corresponds with the report without manual intervention. ForConnect 2.1 can also interface with document scanners to enable the publication of scanned paper documents.

ForConnect 2.1 is a modular component and can be deployed indepently or in combination with other XDS-compliant products from Forcare.
