Overview
Forcare offers a full suite of software products to realize health information exchanges - solutions for sharing clinical information. Our modular product portfolio is based on the principles of the IHE XDS – Cross-Enterprise Document Sharing – technical framework and helps you connect (legacy) information systems in a modern document sharing infrastructure.
Clinical documents are provided by existing clinical IT systems such as HIS, Lab, RIS, PACS or any departmental system that has a need to share or collect information from patients. Forcare helps you to disclose and connect these systems. Examples of “documents” are:
- Radiology reports.
- Lab reports.
- Images (radiology, cardiology, any)
- ECGs.
- Medical summaries (referral notes, etc.).
Forcare's product suite consists of five key components, that together form a complete modular IHE XDS infrastructure for clinical information sharing.
For information on our latest release please see here.
| Central registry. ForIndex keeps track of meta-data for the clinical documents to be shared. This way, a patient-centric reference index of available information is created. | |
| Document repository. ForStore stores and archives documents created by clinical source systems. After receiving documents it will register the availability and format of these documents with the central registry. | |
| Document access. ForView is a web-based viewer that allows clinicians access to all documents registered in forIndex. It provides various ways to search for information, presents documents in a historical overview and allows access to documents with a simple mouse click. ForView can easily be integrated in your local EMR environment and is highly customizable. Both Microsoft Internet Explorer as well as Mozilla Firefox are supported. | |
| Easy to connect. ForConnect offers connectivity to existing clinical information systems such as HIS, RIS and PACS, using standard communication standards like DICOM, HL7 and PDF. ForConnect acts as a broker to "XDS-enable" your existing information systems. | |
| Audits and Logging. ForAudit offers standardized logging of all relevant activity in the connected systems, providing detailed information on who accessed what information at what time. This ensures accountability. | |
| Cross-Community Access. ForBridge enables your XDS-based Health Information Exchange (HIE) network to access patient information that resides outside your home community. ForBridge is based on the Cross-Community Access (XCA) Profile from the Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) organization. |
All Forcare components can work indepently and interface to any IHE XDS infrastructure. When deployed jointly, the Forcare components provide a state-of-the-art IHE XDS solution suite that meets today's market needs for cross-enterprise sharing of clinical information.
