Implementation Regional Cardiology Network
The Medical Center Leeuwarden (MCL) has conducted thorax surgery and intervention cardiology since 2004 for the entire province of Friesland in the northern part of The Netherlands. In order to improve and accelerate cardiac patient treatment, MCL developed a regional cardiology network based on IHE XDS together with Forcare B.V. With this regional network it is possible to share cardiology information.
Instant access to external cardiac images, ECGs and clinical data during cardiologist team meetings
Jan Brouwer, cardiologist at MCL: "The products from Forcare enable us to include cardiac patients from nearby hospitals in our daily team meetings. Cardiologists from the other hospitals simply register cardiac images, ECGs and reports with forIndex. Through forView and forConnect we have the option to instantaneously access this information using the workstations in our meeting rooms. Prior to engaging with Forcare we evaluated quite a few products. None of these offered the ease-of-use, speed and quality that Forcare's products do. Quality of care is increased since we can act faster and shorten the length of a patient's cardiac treatment process."
